In the late 1960s and early 1970s, while studying and teaching in Trinidad and Tobago, I was also an unofficial missionary—leading, discipling, and pouring into the lives of dozens of high school and university students through ministries like ISCF, IVCF, Youth for Christ, and G-Teens, a Bible-study and mentoring initiative I founded and funded. Among those young disciples was a standout: Wayne Rock. Under that ministry, he received Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, and from early on, he lived what he professed. Wayne later joined the T&T Police Service, graduating at the very top of his class, and serving faithfully in some of the most dangerous zones of North Trinidad. Roughly 30 years ago, he heeded God’s call to full-time ministry and took up the pastorate of a Nazarene congregation in Laventille, one of the most crime-plagued, drug-ravaged, gang-controlled, and economically underprivileged districts in the country.
As Wayne wrote to me just yesterday—while several of us were attending the funeral of our mutual friend and fellow servant in that field, The Eminent Civil Engineer Arnold Aiken—“Should I add that Laventille is considered the most dangerous in crime, drugs, gangs, underprivileged area…? I also served there for most of my time in the police service.”
There was no fanfare or applause. No wealthy church members or corporate backers. Yet for three decades, Wayne gave his all—his youth, his strength, his nights, his income, his family’s comforts—all in obedience to Christ and in faithful service to a people too often overlooked.
Now, dear friends, Pastor Wayne needs us.
He is suffering from a debilitating spinal condition. The pain is excruciating. A previous laminectomy in 2004 brought only temporary relief. His current diagnosis requires urgent surgery to decompress eight spinal nerves. Without it, his ability to walk, function, and serve may be permanently lost.
Though he has insurance, he still needs to raise a significant sum—a burden too heavy to bear alone.

The Need in Simple Terms - USD 8,382:
Description | Amount (TTD) | Amount (USD) |
Total Surgery Cost | 157,000 | ~23,088 |
Insurance Covers | 100,000 | ~14,706 |
Still Needed | 57,000 | ~8,382 |
I have personally pledged support—and now I appeal to you, dear saints across Jamaica, Trinidad, and the wider diaspora:
In Pastor Wayne’s own words:“Because of your influence in my life, I spared no expense in my 30 years pastoring one church and giving my all. Now I literally have nothing to fall back on—except the goodwill of my brothers and sisters in Christ…”
He kept back nothing for himself. Would you now stand in the gap for him?
How You Can Help:
Give: Contribute financially through his official GoFundMe page:👉🏽 https://gofund.me/df414633
Share: Pass along this letter and the GoFundMe link to fellow believers, church leaders, and friends across your networks.
Pray: Lift up Pastor Wayne in fervent, believing prayer—for healing, for provision, for peace, and for a renewed season of fruitful ministry.
Encourage: If you know him personally or were ever blessed by his ministry, send him a word of encouragement or a call. Let him know he’s not forgotten.
Let us be like the friends in Luke 5 who broke through the roof to lower their sick brother before Jesus. Your act of faith might be the very means God uses to lift up His servant again.
“Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” — Proverbs 11:25
Now is our opportunity to refresh a man who spent his life refreshing others.
With tears in my eyes and hope in my heart, I thank you for reading—and for acting in love.
In Christ’s Service and with great affection,
Dennis A. Minott,
Founder, G-Teens Trinidad & A-QuEST Jamaica,
Brother in Christ to Pastor Wayne Rock.
PS: Compared to Wayne's health issues, my health challenges, minor though they be, were enough to prevent me from being at Arnold's remembrance service, yesterday. Beloved Audrey Haynes sent me the priceless video. (https://www.youtube.com/live/wZt5kiVhnfg) --Dennis
