With Warmest Thanks and Recent Reflections
Dear colleagues and friends,
I hope this note finds you well.
I am writing to express my profound gratitude for the exceptionally kind and encouraging messages many of you shared regarding my op-eds over the past weekend of mid-July. Your thoughtful engagement and willingness to discuss these critical issues of statehood, education, and development mean more to me than I can readily express. It is always a privilege to share in these conversations with you.
For those who may have missed last weekend's offerings, or for those who wish to revisit them, they can be found directly here:
An Open Letter to the Ascot Primary School Community (published in the Sunday Gleaner, July 12, 2026)
What’s Not Straight with Jamaica’s SMR Proposal? (published as a feature-length piece in the Jamaica Observer, July 12, 2026)
Building on those themes, I have published a crucial new essay this week in the flourishing e-magazine Our Today. The editorial team there did a truly mindful job illustrating the essay's key concepts in the interest of Jamaica and CARICOM. You may read it here: Our Today - July 2026 Essay
As a necessary companion-piece to this week's essay, this coming Sunday’s Gleaner will feature:
"Imagine a Billionaire Investing With Jamaica"
By Dennis A. Minott, PhD
I hope you find this week's offerings as engaging and useful as the last. Thank you, as always, for the generous benefit of your time, your intellect, and your continued support.
With my warmest regards and deepest respect,
Dennis A. Minott, PhD
