A Dire Warning Against Nuclear Power in Jamaica's Urban Heartland

A Dire Warning Against Nuclear Power in Jamaica's Urban Heartland

First, kindly see:

Proposing any nuclear power reactor—especially an untested SMR design—within or near the densely populated Portmore-Spanish Town-Kingston and Saint Andrew region is nothing short of catastrophic folly.

I call on all physicists, physical chemists, engineers, environmentalists, geoscientists, emergency workers, radiologists, oncologists, veterinarians, meteorologists, radiographers, X-Ray technicians, technicians, realtors, real estate developers, mechanics, regulators like the OUR, first-responders, teachers, professors, academics, academicians, fishers, hunters, hikers and critical thinkers across Jamaica: we must rally against this reckless adventure that seems driven by personal wealth—greed disguised as industrial development and progress—from Mr. Lee-Chin, who has chosen to reside in Canada.

Property values in Portmore, Spanish Town, and many surrounding areas of St. Catherine, Port Royal, and KSA will predictably plummet.

While his wealth and interest are undisputed, his technical competence and intentions for Portmore, Jamaica, CARICOM, and the entire region remain questionable.

This is no ordinary struggle; it is a battle of utmost importance for the safety, prosperity, and future of our people. Let us stand united against this threat.
